The Section 34 order runs from 1pm on Thursday 5 November until 1pm on Saturday 7 November.

It gives officers powers to direct people involved in, or suspected of being involved in, anti-social behaviour to leave the designated area for a specified period.

Greater Manchester Police said the order followed concerns about potential Bonfire Night-related anti-social behaviour, which had occurred in previous years. Officers will continue patrols during the order.

Inspector Zac Campbell, from GMP’s Gorton and Levenshulme Neighbourhood Policing Team, said “We will be patrolling areas throughout the night, to tackle any issues that arise, while we will be proactively looking to shut down anything of concern before it becomes a problem.”

Anyone with information or concerns can contact police on 101 or through Live Chat on the GMP website. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
